Anvil! The Story of Anvil

Just saw Anvil! The Story of Anvil. It’s amazing. The band and this movie deserve your hard earned dollars.

Many times I found the movie tugging at my heart as Robb and Lips recount the many music biz horror stories they and the band have experienced over the past four decades. Ultimately, though, this movie documents Robb and Lip’s personal and monetary redemption for sticking together through the good and bad times. And that’s what I love the most about this movie. Seeing talented, passionate people follow their dreams, even if the odds and common sense says otherwise.

Added bonus: Anvil! is beautifully filmed. The closing scenes of Robb and Lips hanging in Japan are a perfect visual metaphor of their rebirth and status as rock legends (plus it almost makes you want to bust out the Kleenex).

Double added bonus: I watched the movie about the best way possible at a brand new theatre while savouring an ice cold Red Bull and eating 3 veggie tacos from Chipotle. Believe the hype, Chipotle is really that good!

Digg it!
