		<description>there&#039;s a simple reason that leaf games aren&#039;t like that. toronto has a pretty significant number of families that have immigrated to canada in the last 40 years from places like italy, portugal, spain, etc; countries where soccer (aka football) is a huge part of their culture. They relate to soccer for a lot of reasons, but likely because it&#039;s familiar to them. it allows them to embrace an important part of their cultural heritage in the place that they&#039;re currently living. 

Hockey just hasn&#039;t had the same (if any...) impact on those countries. with the exception of eastern europe and scandanavia, i don&#039;t really think hockey has had any cultural impact outside of north america.</description>
